The lighting in the game is superb, and some of the best features I’ve seen.
TOMCAT SPINTIRES FULL
So, with my Full HD monitor and Radeon 7700HD, I can push 1920×1080, with 16xAA no sweat.
TOMCAT SPINTIRES INSTALL
Yes, that’s a PC game, with HD capable graphics, a full physics engine, and mod-able with an install size under 500 MB. The graphics are amazing for a game that boasts a total size of a bit under 500 MB. Overall, the game is satisfying in my eyes, as you feel somewhat accomplished once you’ve reached the destination you are intending, but challenging because you find out, once you’ve arrived, you’ve brought the wrong truck for the task. The damage feature of the game seems accurately modeled as I’ve hit a number of bumps too fast and it does damage to the undercarriage as well. I’ve gone off the beaten path a number of times and even in one of the more capable trucks, I’ve managed to damage it heavily, almost tipping it when entering into a path or hitting any number of trees on my way in. It is even more exciting in water, as you can’t see the bottom, so the truck can go astray if you aren’t paying close attention to the current (if its a river) and which way the wheels are pointing. If you climb a hill with a sharp drop on the other side, the truck can get stuck if you don’t have enough speed to conquer the rise. When there is a large mud pit, your vehicle plunges farther down dependent on the vehicles weight. The vehicles respond well in the physics engine they’ve designed. Otherwise you’ll be rescuing that utility vehicle instead of uncovering the map. You may want something with a snorkel and large tires to stay on top of the thicker mud. If the center of the circle is in a marsh, you don’t want your small utility vehicle heading out there. While it may not seem like much of a issue, choosing the vehicle to scout out the center of the circle will be the true test. Almost every move you make on the map has to have a plan, as it is completely possible you can become stuck, and will have to winch yourself out, or use another truck to pull yourself out.Īnother sneaky part of the game is the fact that you can see the map and your objectives and some of the locations of the lumber, but most of the map is “cloaked” and is only uncovered once you’ve reached the center of the cloaking circle.

However, there is no tearing off down anywhere. While the game maps do have limits, it is an open map you can go anywhere your vehicle will fit. This is a far cry from Need For Speed or Forza, where you jump in a car and tear off down a road to the finish line. Now on first look, it seems simple, but as you’ll see in the following images and video, it is far from it. The premise of the game is as such you are given a certain truck or number of trucks to start, and you have to traverse the landscape, in order to deliver lumber to the appropriate objective location. There are trucks, objectives to complete, and obstacles to prevent you from completing these objectives. The best part of this game is there isn’t a storyline in Spintires.
